Bankruptcy Court Appoints Collins J. Seitz, Jr. to Mediate Claims Exceeding $500 Million in Tropicana Bankruptcy
The Honorable Kevin J. Carey, Chief Judge of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware, has appointed Collins J. Seitz, Jr. to mediate claims in excess of $500 million in connection with the bankruptcy of casino operator Tropicana Entertainment, LLC.
Mr. Seitz is frequently called upon by Delaware courts to assist in resolving complex disputes. Most notably, the United States District Court for the District of Delaware appointed Mr. Seitz as Special Master for pre-trial proceedings in the largest securities class action filed in Delaware, In re DaimlerChrysler Securities Litigation. Mr. Seitz previously served as one of four members of the District of Delaware’s panel of Special Masters selected by the District Court for intellectual property and complex commercial litigation pretrial proceedings.
